"And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away" [Revelation 21:4]

.If you created heaven...

How would it look?  What would be the most important part of it?  What things would you want to keep from your experience on earth?  What would you throw away?  And what would be the part of heaven that you would look forward to most?  Living in a world of total peace?  Meeting loved ones who had died?  Meeting God, face to face?!

.  God wants you there!

Did you know that there is nothing God wants more concerning you that you should spend eternity with him in HIS heaven.  He created you in his image to have a relationship with him that was meant to endure forever.

God watched you form when you were in your mother's womb.  He knows you through and through.  Better than you know yourself.  He wants to pour his love and goodness and kindness and mercy into your life, forever.

The Bible says heaven is a place of unspeakable beauty.  A place of light and love beyond comprehension.  It needs no sun because Jesus is its light.  Jesus will share his heavenly glory with those who repent and trust in him.

There are rewards in heaven and yes, it is even a place of pleasure.  From Psalms chapter 16, verse 11 in the Bible we read:

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are
pleasures for evermore."

.  The question you must ask

The question you must ask is NOT, "Am I a good person?" but...

"Am I good ENOUGH to go to heaven?"

A Peak into Heaven!

.   A quote from a man who was given a peek into heaven .... (he's there now)

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer is.

And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband.

And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away.

And He sitting on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful.

And He said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who thirsts I will give of the fountain of the Water of Life freely.

He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son."

(The above quote is recorded in the Bible by the apostle John, Revelation 21:1-7.  John was one of Jesus closest disciples on earth.)

A Peak into Hell

.   In this vision of things to come, God also told the apostle John.....

"But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."  (Revelation 21:8)

In heaven "God will wipe away all tears", in the lake of fire there will be "wailing and gnashing of teeth"
(Matthew 13:42)

Have you ever lied (be it white lies, exageration, deception)?   You know your guilty.  Your conscience, the judge God has put in the courtroom of your mind, tells you that you are.  Conscience means "with knowledge".  Con meaning "with" and science meaning knowledge.  So everytime you tell a lie, you do it "with knowledge" that it's wrong.  A human court punishes those who commit theft and fraud.  But our sin is against God who made us.  And God is so Holy that the Bible says, "all liars, will have their part in the lake burning with fire and brimstone..."   Remember, that's just lies!  There are far worse sins than lies.  The Bible says that on the day of judgement we will have to give account of every secret thought.  The Bible is fully justified when it says that there is no-one who is righteous (Romans 3:10).  Heaven is Holy and Perfect, God is Holy and Perfect and he cannot, he will not let anything unholy into his heaven.

R U an Overcomer?

.   How do you overcome enemies of the soul: sin, death & evil (including Satan) so you can enter heaven?

"For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.   Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"  (1 John 1:4-5)

The belief spoken of here is not simply mental acceptance that Jesus exists and he is who he says he is: God incarnate.  Even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19) but that won't save them!!  The belief spoken of here is the kind of belief you have if you're on a plane about to crash and you're told, "This parachute will save you when you jump 25,000 feet in the next 5minutes."

You don't just believe what you're told about the parachute, you demonstrate your belief in the parachute and its ability to save you by putting it on.

Likewise, you demonstrate your belief in Jesus and his power to save you from eternal hell (as you make the jump from this life to the next) by putting him on.  How do you put on Jesus?  You put on the Lord Jesus Christ by by (a) repenting of (turning from) the sin in your life and (b) trusting in (turning to) Jesus and his death as payment for your sin.  Only by "putting on" Christ can you be forgiven and receive eternal life in heaven.  Yes, God loves you but if you continue living in stubborn rebellion towards him you will experience his eternal justice.  His wrath against sin is passed only by his mercy towards the sinner.  But he will not violate your will.  You must decide yourself to humble yourself before your maker, repent and put your trust in Jesus for eternal salvation.

Jesus at the Door

.  In the last book in the Bible, Revelation chapter 3, verse 20, Jesus said,

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me."

Note several things about this verse...

  1. A door gives entrance to a home - the home in mind is your heart, your life.
  2. Jesus is standing at the door - so he is ready to enter.  But clearly he will not if not invited.  He will not violate you will, your sovereignty over your life to decide what to believe and do.  So if you reject him, you actually choose your own destiny.  You cannot blame him.  He has been there knocking for a long time.

  3. He is knocking - so he is making his presence known.  How has he been getting your attention.  God's love is persistent.  He will not give up knocking till the day of judgement.  But then it will be too late.

  4. He is speaking - so he is identifying himself.  Jesus is the only way to God the Father and eternal life.  He wants you to hear his voice and listen.  Go to the Atheists page and see the five ways he speaks to us.

  5. His invitation is to anyone - so that means you qualify.  Hes interested in you.

  6. The door must be opened by the occupant, not Jesus - so you need to take some action or he will stay outside.

  7. He promises to come in - He doesn't want to be a stranger.  Note: on the day of judgment he will say to some, "Depart from me, I never knew you."  What counts is not whether you think you know God but whether he knows you.  The Bible says, "The Lord knows those who are his."

  8. He will eat at the table, sup, with the one who invites him in.  - so he will meet you where you are at.

  9. The person who repents and receives Jesus into their life, will also eat with Jesus. - When Jesus returns for his people one of the first events in heaven will be a wedding banquet where Jesus and his bride (the church, the body of Christ, true believers) celebrate the beginnnig of an eternity together in heaven.   Will you be there?  To those who repent and trust Jesus for salvation Jesus says that he will prepare a place for them in heaven.  So not only will he come and live in you now by the Holy Spirit whom he give to all who repent and believe, he will also come one day and take you to be with him in his home in heaven.  God is a personal God and he wants you to enjoy his love forever.  But he is also a just God and will one day punish all unrepentant sinners.  There will be no place in heaven for the wicked.

Streets of Gold!

.  As you read Revelation chapter 21 below, please note three things…

(1)   Any words in [square brackets] are placed there by this website as an explanation.  Words in [square brackets] which are also in italics (on an angle or slant) are from the original quote from the King James Bible.

(2)  As in other passages of the Bible, there is again a strong reminder of the difference between heaven and hell.  Contrasted with the unspeakable glory of heaven, you have the fearful reality of hell.  God wants you in heaven.  The choice is a “no-brainer” but it requires a broken and humble spirit to admit to God, you are a sinner and need saved. The Bible says God will oppose the proud but exalt the humble.  If you humble yourself, this is what you have to look forward to.

(3)  Keep in mind that the most beautify part of heaven is not its physical appearance, but whose place it is and the fact that those who go there will finally leave behind them their sinful nature and enjoy the fullness of God’s love in all his heavenly glory.
